As you shop for a photographer, it may catch you off guard at how expensive it can be. Photography is one of those instances where price does not have to mean quality. There are many expensive photographers I love, and many I would not hire (even for less money).
One thing to understand is the time involved with a good session. I generally spend 2 times longer on the images after I shoot them. This will include uploading the images, photoshop, trips to the lab, and putting together the album.
When you include the meetings we will have, a 10 hour wedding package includes 40 hours of work. Include the price for prints and albums,pro equipment, studio rent, advertising, and taxes, it becomes clear how quality photography is expensive.
I keep my overhead down, and pass the savings on to my clientelle.
